Brighton Financial Update...

There’s been quite a lot happening at Brighton Financial recently and I thought it might be useful to let you what we’ve been up to.

Hiring

I’ve recently hired an outsourced paraplanner, Donna Watkinson, to help with research and report writing.  But what’s a paraplanner, Marco? You might be familiar with a para-legal assistant who’s someone that’s not fully qualified in the legal profession but understands it very well and assists in the background work. This is what Donna does for me.  She’s great and having her onboard frees up more time for me to do other things such as writing this little email (you lucky thing!).

Office Improvements…

I’ve put a lot of effort in to making the office a really nice place for clients to spend time.  I think it’s really important to have a professional but welcoming and relaxed environment to do business in.The response has been great and our new coffee machine has gone down very well, as too have the supply of pretty nice biscuits!I’ve included a few images…

Exams…

I’m currently studying for a qualification in long-term care.  It’s an area I know a fair amount about and it’s an issue that’s relevant to a lot of our clients.Long-term care is something that’s on a lot of people’s minds, particularly for our slightly older clients.  Planning for this is an important part of our work.To this end, I felt it was important to get something formal on the wall.  It’s hard going so wish me luck!

Financial Planning…

We’re a financial planning business rather than an IFA (Independent Financial Adviser). What’s the difference?  Well, we’re interested in your entire life and how your money supports this.  An IFA is typically just interested in your money! The work we do is far more focused on the planning side of things, helping our clients live the life that they want without worrying about ever running out of money.  It’s something I’m very passionate about.

Growing…

I want to grow the business, but slowly and carefully.  I only want to work with people who get what we do and feel they would value it.  I also don’t want service to suffer along the way!Like any business, the best way to grow is through recommendation from existing clients.  Ideally, we’re looking for clients who need help and guidance with their money. This could be people approaching retirement or those in retirement but unsure how things might look for them in the future.I hope this gives you a bit of an insight in to what’s been happening with us.  I’m not one to ‘big up’ what we do but I think we have a great business that focuses on the needs of our clients.  Afterall, there wouldn’t be a business if we didn’t have clients!Until next time...
